Ace OLEDB data provider download and Installation
Microsoft Access Database Engine 2010 Redistributable can be downloaded from the Microsoft’s Download Center
Depending on 32bit or 64bit, you can download either the AccessDatabaseEngine.exe or the AccessDatabaseEngine_x64.exe. In this blog, I would be working with the 32bit version.
If you already have MS-Access installed on your system then you do not need to download the above. It would probably already be there.
Once you have download the file, simply run the file and you will be presented with this dialog box. Simply click on “Next”
In the next dialog box, carefully read the Terms and Conditions and then onc you accept it, click on “Next”
I usually let my system decide the path for installation. If you wish to change it then this is where you do it. I would recommend letting the system install it in the Program Files folder. Once done, click on “Next”. Please ensure that you have closed MS Office and other applications which may interfere with the installation. If you don’t then the installation will prompt you to close and will not proceed till you close or ignore the warning by clicking on “Ignore” button
Once the Microsoft Access Database Engine 2010 Redistributable is installed, it may ask you to restart the system.
Now we are all set to automate Excel from VB.Net using the Microsoft Access Database Engine 2010 Redistributable.
